Dallas Glass Project Selected As Hartung/Guardian Winner
October 5, 2010

Hartung Glass Industries and Guardian Industries named Darand Davies, president of Salem, Ore.-based Dallas Glass, the winner of the Beat the Heat with Hartung and Guardian SunGuard competition. The competition was developed to celebrate the Guardian SunGuard Select Fabricator certification of Hartung’s Wilsonville location, and was launched to recognize an extraordinary Guardian SunGuard project fabricated by Hartung Glass Industries. Davies submitted a series of photographs of Salem Alliance Church’s new Broadway Commons project.

Broadway Commons is a mixed-use community center, health care facility and place of worship. It includes a significant commerce component due to strict zoning restrictions as it is located in an urban renewal zone.

Designed and built by CB|Two of Salem, Ore., Broadway Commons has 3200 square feet of Guardian SunGuard SuperNeutral 68 on clear and 4300 square feet of Guardian SunGuard SuperNeutral 54.

“Hartung did a great job. The glass portion went very well,” says Davies. “It was a four-month project that just wrapped up with the grand opening recently. Everyone involved is very happy.”

In addition to being an anticipated LEED Silver building, Broadway Commons features 47,000 square feet of Class ‘A’ space with distinctive attributes including Salem Free Medical Clinic where free medical care is provided to the uninsured and under-insured.
