Vision Panels Receive UL 20 and 45 min. Fire Ratings
VISTAMATIC LLC has announced that its vision panels, using 16 gauge
metal frames and intumescent glazing compound, were tested to UL
20 and 45 minute fire retardant and hose stream test (UL 10C) for
window assemblies. Tested in accordance with the UL 9 and UBC 7-4
standards, VISTAMATIC vision panels were judged to comply and be
eligible for UL Classification and product marking. The VISTAMATIC
panels also conform to British ISO, fire test standards, according
to a company news release.
"The UL fire test classification, will open a much larger audience
for the product because architects, door manufactures and municipalities
require this rating for many installations," says managing
partner, Kevin Roth.
The company promotes its patented VISTAMATIC viewing panel as "perfect
for discreet, effective surveillance of secure or sensitive areas."
Comprising clear and opaque sheets of glass in a single frame, the
VISTAMATIC vision panel is opened and closed using a choice of integral
levers or handles. The vision panel is maintenance-free and, because
it is triple-glazed, sound transmission is minimal.
The vision panels are available in standard sizes, with custom sizes
manufactured on request and can be retrofitted both to doors or
walls. Panels are also available incorporating special glass for
protection against X-ray, laser, vandalism, fire and bullets. The
VISTAMATIC vision panels can be designed to incorporate logos and
