Mike Smith Joins Viracon to Serve the U.K. and Europe

Viracon of Owatonna, Minn., has hired Mike Smith as its architectural products manager for the United Kingdom and Europe.

Smith has more than 20 years of experience in the glass and glazing industry, and has worked in such areas as product and strategic business development, architectural and technical sales management and customer service management. He has worked closely with architecture and design firms as well as glass manufacturing organizations in Europe, Scandinavia and the United States, and major construction companies and processing partners in the United Kingdom.

"Smith brings a wealth of experience and leadership to Viracon. In the past, he has collaborated with Viracon, serving as a liaison between architectural practices, Viracon and glazing contractors," said Joe Effertz, Viracon's international business development manager. "He provided technical assistance, specification writing and budget planning."
