TEXpo 06 Opens Today in San Antonio
Glass TEXpo 2006 kicks off today in the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center
in San Antonio, Texas. Many attendees came into town a day early, however, to
participate in the golf tournament sponsored by the Texas Glass Association. The
Cedar Creek Golf Course, with its rolling fairways, set the scene for the competition
of 60 participants.
The winning low-gross team was made up of Jesse Bissey, PPG; Bob Lawrence, Crafstman;
Willard White, ACI and Patrick Smith-USGlass magazine. The team shot a score of
60 for 12 under par.
Alan Sharp, Sam Hill, Danny Goode and Bob Taylor, all with AFG, comprised the
team with the winning net score of 60.
John Linhart with Craftsman won the competition for closest to the pin, while
Ray Horton, also with Craftsman, demonstrated the longest drive of 335 yards.
Golfers, exhibitors and attendees moved inside this morning for seminars on
architectural glass and management.
The trade show floor opened at 2 p.m. TEXpo runs through tomorrow afternoon.
The event is co-sponsored by the Texas Glass Association and Key Communications
Inc., publisher of USGlass, AGRR, Window Film, Door and Window Manufacturer, Shelter
and Mold and Moisture Management magazines.
