Solutia
and Windoworld Work Together to Meet Hurricane Protection Demands
St. Louis-based
Solutia Inc. has announced it is working with Ontario-based Windoworld
Industries, a manufacturer of windows and doors for residential
and light commercial projects, to offer code-approved, hurricane-protection
products that feature KeepSafe laminated glass.
Windows and
doors made with KeepSafe glass, according to Solutia, are certified,
code-approved and have passed Florida's building code requirements.
Windoworld offers high-end vinyl windows, which employ a unique
structural framing system with fusion-welded corners and a dual
sealing system.
"Our partnership
with Solutia is a perfect fit," said Jay Modha, president and
founder of Windoworld. "The architects and designers we work
with demand a superior product offering, and both Solutia's KeepSafe
Max and Saflex interlayer for commercial applications deliver the
impact resistance required to meet Florida's stringent building
code requirements. We've been readily able to pass the hurricane
testing requirements by utilizing high quality interlayers and our
proprietary steel rod framing system."
