Pilkington Acquires License for SPD-SMART Light Control

Woodbury, N.Y.'s Research Frontiers Inc. has granted a world-wide, non-exclusive license for its SPD-Smart™ light-control technology to Pilkington. According to Research Frontiers, under the agreement, Pilkington will also provide lamination and other services to Research Frontiers licensees for use in a variety of SPD-Smart glass and plastics products.

In an SPD-Smart window, sunroof or other product, the user can manually or automatically "tune" the amount of light, glare and heat coming into a home, office, or vehicle, Research Frontiers says.
