PFG Building Glass, a float glass manufacturer in Southern Africa, has switched its float technical assistance providers from Pilkington to Guardian. The transition was effective July 1.

According to the announcement made by PFG chief executive officer Stewart Jennings, Pilkington will still be involved in providing back-up assistance with some areas of the line, which has the proprietary Pilkington technology.

"We believe there will be a smooth transition in our float technical assistance arrangement, and wish to thank both parties for the constructive manner in which we have been able to negotiate the change," said Jennings in the announcement.
