ODL Inc. of Zeeland, Mich., has announced that it has reached an agreement
with RSL Inc. of Egg Harbor, N.J., settling its patent infringement lawsuit that
alleged RSL's Eclipse product infringed upon its Integral blind patent,
according to Paul Meeuwsen, senior vice president of sales and marketing.
"Under the terms of the settlement, RSL
will change the design
if this disputed products and will no longer import from China or manufacture
the original design," said Meeuwsen. "Additionally, RSL will pay a royalty
on all Eclipse products manufactured before the settlement date."
ODL's Integral blind has been on the market since 2000.
"ODL is well-known in the industry as an innovator for door glass products.
We spend significant time and effort developing innovative new products, and we
feel it's our duty to customers, employees and shareholders to protect this intellectual
property that we have worked so hard to engineer and develop," said Meeuwsen.
