Window and door manufacturer MI Metals has chosen Granco Clark to supply equipment to its facility in Millen, Ga. A new Granco Clark billet heating system will upgrade an existing press line at the facility. This is the third heating system upgrade MI Metals has entrusted to Granco Clark in the last two years.

The billet heating systems consists of a model 57-35-3 hot jet furnace with the ability to handle log lengths up to 24 feet. A model 6/8 hot log shear will process 7-inch diameter logs and provide the exact length billet required on every press cycle, thus reducing scrap, according to a Granco Clark news release.
