Mikron
Announces New President
Mikron, a PVC window profile extruder in the United States, has
announced that David R. Wemmer has accepted the position of company
president. Wemmer will begin in the role of president on September
18th, 2006.
Michael Bayles, who has been the acting Mikron president since early
this year, will continue as president of the building products group
of Quanex Corp., the parent company of Mikron.
"David's past experience and successes running Milgard Windows'
PVC extrusion operation has equipped him with extensive knowledge
and presence within the window business. In addition, his prior
management positions in other building supply categories with Ingersol-Rand
will broaden the kind of lean thinking and programs we continue
to implement at Mikron. David's background of customer focus and
continuous improvement discipline will help keep Mikron competitive,
growing, and profitable," Bayles said.
"David has 28 years of industry experience and a proven track
record of personal growth and growth for the teams he led"
Bayles continued. "It's a great fit with our Mikron team, bringing
his leadership skills together with the great talent we already
have."
Prior to Wemmer's employment at Milgard and Ingersol-Rand, he held
management positions of increasing responsibilities at Westinghouse
and Hewlett Packard. He holds a BS in Industrial Technology and
an MBA, both from San Jose State University.
