Nanette Lockwood Named Legislative Affairs Manager at Solutia Inc.

Solutia Inc. of St. Louis has named Nanette Lockwood, P.E. legislative affairs manager of the company's governmental affairs team.

In her new position, Lockwood will focus on legislative affairs for all Solutia businesses. She will identify and manage key state and federal legislative initiatives, develop strategic relationships, build coalitions in the industry and government, and manage lobbying efforts.

Lockwood brings significant engineering and legislative experience to her new position. Prior to joining Solutia in 2004 as hurricane market manager for the Laminated Glazing Interlayers (LGI) division, Lockwood was the director of building codes and engineering at the Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS). She also held project management roles with a number of engineering consulting firms and has extensive experience with regulatory bodies, building officials, architects, engineers and window companies. Throughout her career, Lockwood has been actively involved in a number of initiatives to strengthen building codes with respect to natural disasters, on both the state and national level.

Lockwood earned a bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical concentration) and a master's degree in environmental engineering from the University of South Florida. She holds a professional engineer license in Florida.
