ICD High Performance Coatings of Vancouver, Wash., has joined with Water &
Air Works of Vancouver, Wash., and SEKO Worldwide to gather much needed food,
water, clothing and monetary donations for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Employees of ICD High Performance Coatings walked neighborhood streets over
Labor Day weekend, asking for food and clothing donations to be added to a generous
two-pallet water donation from Water & Air Works. Goods were packed in five
gallon paint buckets from ICD's inventory to ensure that no damage would occur.
A total of eight pallets were transported via donated truck transportation from
SEKO Worldwide and its local Portland office. All cargo was transported to the
Red Cross for immediate transportation to distribution centers in the Gulf region.
"It went as well as expected," said Kris Vockler, vice president
of operations for ICD High Performance Coatings. "We hit as quick as we could
to get as big a shipment as we could, and now we're focusing our efforts on helping
those we know."
