Richard (Dick) Hogan has been named to the position of president and chief executive officer (CEO) for Solvay Chemicals, Inc., headquartered in Houston, Texas. He succeeds David Birney, who will continue to hold the position of president and CEO of Solvay America, Inc.

Hogan joined Solvay Minerals, Inc. in 1991 as vice president of commercial operations, and became that company's president in 1994. In 2003, he was named senior vice president/commercial operations for the newly formed Solvay Chemicals, Inc., and became Executive Vice President in 2005. His appointment as president and CEO became effective on October 1, 2005.
