2006 Program for "Glass Technology Live" Set
In addition to the products on display at glasstec 2006, the 19th
International Trade Fair for Machinery, Equipment, Applications
and Products, the Special Show "glass technology live"
will present new perspectives for the glass industry. glasstec 2006
will take place from October 24 - 28, 2006 at the fairgrounds in
Düsseldorf, Germany.
The organizer of "glass technology live," Professor Stefan
Behling, senior architect at Fosters & Partners in London, and
his team from Stuttgart University will present the latest products,
technologies, trends and designs with the title "Future Homes."
Main topics of the special exhibition will include "Tomorrow's
Materials," "Future Insulating Glasses," "Façade
Technology," "Bionics" and "Adaptive Systems."
The "glass technology live" exhibit will be located in
Hall 11.
The accompanying "glass technology live" symposium will,
for the first time, feature presentations from Germany's largest
Chamber of Architects (AKNW) and the Fraunhofer-Institute for Solar
Energy Systems (ISE). A different topic will be discussed each day
of glasstec: "Engineering and Research" on October 24,
"Emotion and Material" on October 25, "Glass and
Energy" on October 26, "Prospects and Applications"
on October 27 and "Focus on Trade" on October 28.
Simultaneous translation into English will be provided. Registration
is not necessary. Entrance into the "glass technology live"
exhibit and participation in the symposium is free of charge with
a glasstec entrance pass.
The North-Rhine Westphalian Chamber of Architects and the Technical
University of Delft will organize the first international architects'
congress, "Reflection - Glass in Architecture," during
glasstec 2006. The congress will take place in the Congress Center
East on October 27 from 9:45 am - 1:30 pm. Simultaneous translation
into English will be offered at this event as well.
Registration is required and the cost for participating is Euro
49 (approx. $60 US), which also includes entrance into glasstec
2006 and "glass technology live," the use of public transportation
to and from the show and a snack. The congress is a recognized continuous
education course.
