The Glass Association of North America (GANA) has announced the release of its most recent Glass Information Bulletin (GIB) titled Emergency Egress Through Laminated Glazing Materials. The GIB focuses on emergency entry and exit of buildings through laminated glass, and is intended to inform building owners, design professionals and construction specifiers about emergency ingress and egress considerations when using laminated glass products.

"An incorrect perception about laminated glazing products is that they prevent emergency ingress or egress," said Solutia's Mark Gold who serves as chairperson of the GANA emergency egress task group. "This bulletin is a step toward educating the public that these glazing materials can be quickly penetrated by properly trained and equipped first-response emergency personnel."
