USGNN Original StoryBill Furr Joins Arizona Shower Door as Regional Sales Manager

After more than 34 years with the same company, Bill Furr, who spent 29 years in outside sales followed by a handful of years in quality control with Jacksonville, Fla.-based Coastal Industries, recently decided he was ready for a change. On October 1 Furr joined Arizona Shower Door as a regional sales manager servicing the Gulf Coast states, with the exception of Texas.

“I’ve known Spike Knadler [owner of Arizona Shower Doors] for 20 years. He was opening a program in a new territory in the Southeast and he needed someone to do that for him,” Furr tells USGNN.com™ “It was an opportunity that would allow me to go back out in the field.”

In this new role Furr will focus on helping the company set up new accounts and also servicing the existing ones.

“The company has a great product and we want to see it kicked up to the next level,” says Furr.

In the past Arizona’s customer base consisted primarily of glass shops and installers. Furr says the company has broadened its reach by adding some retail establishments and is working with some of the Lowes stores, which is an area Furr says he was able to bring some of his experience.

“It can be challenging to start a new territory,” Furr adds, explaining that in the western states Arizona Shower Door is a company that’s well known. “In the southeast, though, they’ve not been here before so the company is not well known. So we’re breaking into a new area here.”

And while there may be some challenges, Furr says he is very excited about this new opportunity, especially “the thousands of new friends” he will meet.

“That’s the best part about sales, meeting new people.”
