Expanding Metal Manufacturing Capabilities in Western United States
Firestone Metal Products, a sister company of Firestone Building Products,
has announced plans to expand manufacturing capabilities with a new metal roofing
plant and distribution center in the western United States. Site selection for
the new location is underway.
The new facility is expected to manufacture a range of UNA-CLAD® by Firestone
products, including architectural metals in coils and flat sheets, in addition
to factory-fabricated roofing systems. The company expects the new facility to
include a light gauge cut-to-length line with corrective leveling, coil slitting
and roll forming capabilities.
The plant will be Firestone Metal Products' first metal facility in the western
United States; it currently operates five metal production sites, located in Anoka,
Minn., Pompano Beach, Fla., Warren, Mich., Jackson, Miss., and Morrisville, Pa.
"Investing in a sixth manufacturing plant reflects our commitment to providing
customers with one source for high-quality products engineered and manufactured
from the deck up," said Mike Gorey, president of Firestone Building Products
and chief executive officer of BFS Diversified Products LLC.
