Expo Midwest 2006 Golf Outing Goes Back to Nature
The golf outing offered at Glass Expo Midwest (GEMS) 2006
is filling up fast and looks to challenge even the more avid golfers
in the industry.
Event attendees participating in the event the day before the seminars
and trade show take place will find themselves playing in the Cook
County Forest Preserve, on a course wherein water comes into play
on six of the 18 holes. An intermediate challenging course, it has
52 sand traps strategically placed throughout tree-lined fairways.
The Preserve has a huge lighted driving range for evening practice
and a total of ten courses to play on.
The golf outing is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August
9, 2006 at the Highland Woods Golf Course in Schaumburg, Ill. The
event, a four-person scramble, has no team restrictions and attendees
are invited to "bring your best team."
The event, co-chaired by Dennis Koziel and Pete Pontikis of MTH
Industries, will begin at 9 a.m. Registration includes golf cart
rental, range balls and lunch, and prizes will be awarded for first
place team, longest drive and closest to the pin.
The golf outing takes place the morning of the White Sox/Yankees
baseball game to which GEMS attendees are invited to purchase tickets
for the patio package, which includes dinner and drinks, two hours
prior to the opening pitch.
Glass Expo Midwest begins on Thursday, August 10 with seminars
and workshops starting at 8 a.m. at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel
and Convention Center in Schaumburg, Ill, a suburb of Chicago. The
accompanying trade show floor opens at 3 p.m. on the 10th and at
10 a.m. on Friday, August 11.
Online registration is available for attendees who don't want the
hassle of a paper registration and helps attendees avoid the lines
of on-site registration.
