Energy Saver EMLock® Now Available

The SDC 1571 series EMLock® is now available from Security Door Controls (SDC). The lock, which comes with a lifetime warranty, provides 1200lbs of holding force and consumes three Watts of power, according to the company.

SDC says the locks are rated at 125 mA @ 24VDC and 250 mA @ 12VDC; the 1571 EMLock® is also equipped with an automatic 12/24VDC voltage sensing input. The EMLock's® low power consumption reduces installation costs by requiring fewer or smaller power supplies and provides savings in long term energy costs.

The standard 1571 EMLock® retrofits virtually any application with the addition of top jamb and glass door mounting kits. All optional timers, door status and bond sensors may be field retrofitted without removing the lock from the frame. Should any part of the lock fail, SDC says all components are interchangeable in 5 minutes, including the magnetic coil, eliminating need for lock removal, shipping lead time and replacement lock installation costs.
