EFCO
Corp. Adds Features to Website, Introduces "5XP" High
Performance Sliding Glass Door
EFCO Corp. has announced the launch of its comprehensive suite
of web-based product tools for the industry. This group of engineering
tools includes the Engineering Detail Library (EDL), Wind Load Chart
generator and E-BEAM. These tools are intended to increase productivity
by providing the industry's most versatile structural programs and
CAD details.
Now users of efcocorp.com can create, view and print a wind load
chart for just about any curtain wall and storefront mullion in
the extensive offering with the click of a few buttons.
According to EFCO, E-BEAM is the most versatile structural analysis
program in the industry. It is an analysis program that allows users
to enter multi-span curtain wall sections at virtually any combination
of design wind pressure and deflection combinations. The program
will then size the appropriate mullions from an extensive library
of available curtain wall mullions and tell the user if steel reinforcement
is required in partial spans.
The EDL application is available to be installed on the user's computer.
The primary function of this application is to assist in the creation
of shop drawings or architectural details using EFCO products. The
EDL allows external users to access the same detail library used
by EFCO in-house drafters The program features drag and drop technology
using hatchIT! for insertion into AutoCAD® or any .dwg
compatible CAD package. New features include: Windows® Explorer
style interface with a directory tree for easy navigation, a new
drawing viewer that allows zooming and printing, and the ability
to locate accessories by product type, and instant updates via the
online connection.
The company has also announced the availability of release of the
5XP High Performance Sliding Glass Door.
The 5XP is engineered to meet the demand for superior air, water
and structural performance, while providing an attractive contemporary
design.
5XP utilizes a reduced sill height, yet maintains high water performance,
while providing easier accessibility. Optional meeting rail allows
design flexibility when greater structural loads are required.
The integrated interior pull handle provides a clean vertical appearance,
and allows for larger panel sizes and structural properties. The
raised stainless steel sill track and roller assembly reduces sand
and debris build up, which the company says provides continuous
smooth operation. The 5XP comes with factory pre-glazed panels,
which controls quality and reduces field labor. The exterior operable
panel and multi-point locking mechanism, allows for easier operation
and greater forced entry resistance. Multiple glazing options are
available up to 1 5/16 inches. 5XP is designed for high-rise residential
and condominiums along coastal regions where impact grade products
and high water performance are required.
