I.G. Sponsors LU Presentation at GlassBuild America, Sept. 18
The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has
organized "Architects of Better Mind," a two-day program
for architects to earn educational LU credits at GlassBuild America
2006. All presentations must be approved by AAMA as unbiased and
educational. Edgetech I.G., manufacturer of the Super Spacer®
all-foam edge seal product line, is sponsoring industry expert Jim
Plavecsky's "Designing Windows for Improved Sound Attenuation"
on Monday, Sept. 18 from 2:45 - 3:45 p.m.
Plavecsky's
presentation discusses how sound travels through the window, sound
testing and design factors that will dampen sound, such as argon
gas filling, glass laminating, controlling air leakage and the use
of structural foam spacer systems.
"Data shows that utilizing structural foams spacer systems,
such as Super Spacer, can reduce sound transmission through insulating
glass by as much as two decibels," said Plavecsky. "AAMA
does a great job of providing convenient LU credits at GlassBuild.
It's a great forum to share information and to educate architects
on the benefits of NO-Metal warm edge technology in commercial applications."
Plavecsky has represented the company as an independent sales agent
since 2001 and served the company as vice president of sales and
marketing from 1997-2001. Plavecsky now owns and operates Windowtech
Sales, a sales, service and consulting firm that provides window
and door manufacturers with value-added components, selling strategies
and consultative services that give his customers a competitive
edge in the industry.
This is Plavecsky's fourth time presenting for AAMA, and he has
also been invited for on-site presentations to architectural firms.
