Edgetech Announces New Facility in Germany

Edgetech I.G., headquartered in Cambridge, Ohio, announced today that it would be opening a new manufacturing facility in Heinsburg, Germany, in 2011. The announcement was made during a press conference at the glasstec trade show, taking place this week in Germany, which the mayor of Heinsburg attended.

According to Andy Jones, sales director and general manager for Edgetech UK, the new 33,000-square-foot facility will be opening in January 2011. Jones noted that the facility is expected to add additional equipment and grow significantly over the next three years.

“It’s a major commitment to a marketplace that’s very important to us,” Jones said. “We want to show our customers we are totally committed to Europe.”

In addition to the commitment of the facility, Jones also noted, “As of last Friday, we now have a European website (http://www.edgetech-europe.com/), in 11 languages.

In commenting on the company’s growth worldwide, Jones noted that the company is forecasting that it will produce 2 billion feet of its warm-edge spacer product by April 2011; the company hit its 1 billion mark in 2008.
