DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions Announces Key Personnel Change

DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions has announced a key personnel change in the company's laminated glass marketplace.

Effective September 1, Torkel Rhenman will become global business director of DuPont glass laminating solutions, responsible for accelerating the transformation of the Glass laminating solutions business within DuPont. Rhenman is currently the global technology and strategic planning director for DuPont Performance Elastomers LLC and will replace Luigi Robbiati.

Luigi Robbiati, currently director of packaging and industrial polymers and global business director of DuPont glass laminating solutions, will accept a new role as growth director for DuPont Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will be responsible for developing new opportunities and ensuring common and consistent best practices throughout the region.
During the last few years, the DuPont glass laminating solutions business has implemented a number of major business changes and new. The business established improved DuPont™ Butacite® process chemistry and constructed a new DuPont™ SentryGlas® Plus plant in Fayetteville, N.C., to meet growing demand. It also introduced two new products: Spallshield® and SentryGlas® Expressions™. The DuPont™ Spallshield® product line is used in automotive sunroof applications; and DuPont™ SentryGlas® Expressions™ provides increased architectural design and decorative possibilities. It also acquired a Czech company, Retrim, which produces fully recycled PVB used in creating laminated glass interlayers.

Rhenman has been with DuPont and DuPont Performance Elastomers since 1986. Among the positions he held, Rhenman was the global business director for DuPont Dow Elastomers ethylene elastomers business unit.
