Dow Corning Renames Concrete Sealant

Midland, Mich.-based Dow Corning Corp. has announced that its Dow Corning® Tilt-Up Weatherproofing Sealant is now being sold under a new name: Dow Corning® Contractors Concrete Sealant (CCS).

“We feel this change better positions us for use across a wider range of construction applications,” said Duane Govitz, marketing manager, construction industries, Americas.

According to the company, the “Tilt-Up” name limited the sealant’s potential. “CCS is a great choice for construction applications requiring a low-modulus, high-movement, 100-percent silicone sealant with excellent, unprimed adhesion to concrete, brick or masonry,” said Govitz.

The company says CCS will be priced in the same range as comparable urethane sealants.

Govitz said the product name change and aggressive product pricing are part of Dow Corning’s strategy to compete directly against urethane sealants in low-rise, commercial projects.
