Acquires Percentage of a Japanese Company
The DORMA Group has acquired, from the Japanese Group Daihatsu Diesel Mfg.
Co. Ltd., 25 percent of the latter's shares in its subsidiary Daihatsu Diesel
NHN Co. Ltd. The acquired specializes in the manufacture and sale of products
for door control and automatic door systems.
According to the announcement, the acquisition will expand DORMA Group's worldwide
reach and further solidify [it] as a worldwide leader in the door control and
automatic door industries.
Daihatsu, which is headquartered in Osaka, is the only Japanese company that
produces both door closers and automatic door systems. It has a 25-percent share
of the Japanese door control market. According to DORMA, through this share deal,
it is gaining access to one of the world's most important markets for door closers
and automatic door systems.
