Desert Glass Adjusts Pricing Due to Float Glass Surcharges

Desert Glass Products of North Las Vegas, Nev., has announced that due to the recent energy surcharge from float glass suppliers, which has increased prices from $500 per truckload to $700 per truckload, it has had to make pricing adjustments.

"Unlike others in our industry, we have decided to stop passing on confusing percentages and square foot surcharges with each invoice," said Matt Hale of Desert Glass Products in a letter to customers. "We are simply going to tell you what our price is and bill you that price. If we have to adjust them again later, we'll tell you then."

Desert Glass says the increase was implemented in this manner because "pricing policies of … suppliers are [its] concern, not [its] customers."

"We are going to improve our overall level of customer service by making our pricing very simple and straightforward," said Hale.
