Cytec
to Demonstrate New UVEKOL® A Glass Laminating System
Cytec Industries Inc. will offer demonstrations of its innovative
UVEKOL A glass lamination system for acoustical applications in
Booth #936 at GlassBuild America, September 19-21 at the Las Vegas
Convention Center.
At these demonstrations, glass professionals can learn how the technology
can help them produce acoustical glass laminates, which offer superior
strength, optical clarity, and sound control, at a very competitive
cost.
Like the other UVEKOL® glass laminating products for safety,
hurricane protection and security, UVEKOL A is a pre-formulated
liquid system that the company says enables glass professionals
to laminate their own glass safely, consistently, and VOC-free using
low-cost, low-intensity ultraviolet (UV) light for fast curing,
with no additional processing required.
Additionally, the UVEKOL A glass lamination system offers significantly
lower start-up and operating costs, reduced cycle time, greater
flexibility, and less waste compared with the time, costs and risks
usually associated with buying laminated glass from the market.
Additionally, Cytec announced that it was recently named as the
first company to qualify for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's
(EPA) Sustainable Futures program, which includes approval for a
shortened regulatory review process for certain new products. s
a result, the EPA's Premanufacturing Notice review period for Cytec
products assessed as low overall risk will be halved from the minimum
of 90 days to only 45 days, thus increasing the speed at which eco-friendly
products can reach the marketplace.
