CRL to Introduce Custom Fabricated Wood Cap Railings at Glass
Expo Midwest '06
Los Angeles-based C.R. Laurence Co. Inc. (CRL) is getting ready for Glass Expo
Midwest with plans to introduce new products. Glass Expo Midwest, sponsored by
USGlass magazine and 11 state associations, is scheduled to take place August
9-11, 2006, at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center in Schaumburg,
During the show CRL will introduce wood cap railings for structural glass railing
systems and balusters. These custom fabricated cap railings are available in a
variety of hardwoods, configurations, sizes and finishes for use with ½-,
5/8- or ¾-inch tempered glass. The railings are made with extruded aluminum
glass pockets to prevent wood from splitting, and round, square or custom configurations
are available. They are supplied in random lengths to conform to the wood lengths,
with 10-foot lengths standard and longer lengths available by special order. Current
hardwood choices available are walnut, cherry, mahogany, white oak and red oak.
"These wood cap rails are an attractive addition to our hand railing
line," said Bob Carlson, CRL product manager. "They can be used as caps
in our glass railing systems or for hand rails that can be bolted to a wall or
posts by a flight of stairs. The use of wood can add warmth and an air of elegance
to structural glass railings and balustrades."
CRL also offers a line of cap railings and hand railings for use with structural
glass railings and balusters, including cap railings, corners, end caps and accessories,
as well as hand railings, tubing, posts and component fittings.
In addition to the wood cap railings, the company offers metal cap railings
in several stock finishes, including polished brass, brushed stainless and polished
stainless. Custom finishes and custom fabrication are also available.
