Announces Midwest Expansion
C.R. Laurence Co. Inc. (CRL) of Los Angeles has begun construction of a new
expanded warehouse and distribution facility if Elgin, Ill. Once completed, the

According to the company's announcement, the new 75,000-square-foot building
is being constructed as a "high cube" storage building. With the extra
height, CRL says it will be able to store inventory up to 20 feet high, equating
to 125,000 to 150,000 feet of storage.
"We have enjoyed many years in the Chicago area and are pleased to be
expanding our capabilities in that region, which is very important to our advancement
as the leading supplier to the glass industry," said Donald E. Friese, president
and chief executive officer. "As we continue to grow, we need to make investments
such as this
The new facility will raise our level of service in that region.
The new location is more convenient for our customers, too, since it is just north
of Chicago O'Hare airport and very close to the freeway. The construction of this
facility demonstrates our deep commitment to the midwestern market."
