Florida's 2005 Governor's Hurricane Conference continued today at the Tampa
Convention Center, marking the 19th year for the event and one the organizers
believe will be "the most enlightening in [the conference's] history."
The program is geared toward the lessons learned in the aftermath of the 2004
hurricane season. Among those on the schedule to speak are Governor Jeb Bush;
Craig Fugate, director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management; Michael
D. Brown, under secretary of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Federal Emergency
Management Agency with the United States Department of Homeland Security and Max
Mayfield, director of the National Hurricane Center. Oldcastle Glass is one of
the members of the glass industry participating in this year's event.
