Industry Gets New Blog
Though the Internet has been around for more than a decade now and most companies
have a website, Max Perilstein, director of marketing for Arch Aluminum and Glass,
has taken the next technological step and created his own industry-based web log,
known as a "blog," becoming one of the first in the industry.
Blogs are the newest web phenomenon, serving in the manner of an online diary
of sorts, to people of all ages.
Perilstein started his blog in October in hopes of providing a new avenue for
the dissemination and discussion of industry information.
"I just started it as a way to communicate about industry issues and try
to get some constructive debate going. There are so many issues and each issue
has two sides. While I may be on one side of it, I hope that opposing views can
chime in and good solid online conversations take place. Maybe we can find some
common ground," Perilstein told USGNN. "Blogs are becoming very popular
and I think mine may be the first one dedicated to our industry. Hopefully this
avenue will get people interested in the issues and willing to take a stand if
necessary."
Perilstein is a columnist for USGlass magazine. His column, From the Fabricator,
appears bimonthly. His blog can be found at http://fromthefabricator.blogspot.com/.
