YKK AP Makes LEED AP a Key for Promotion

YKK AP is making knowledge of green construction practices a key
part of the career development program for sales force employees.
The company recently added the "LEED AP" credential as
an optional requirement for promotion to senior account manager.
Sales representatives seeking promotion also can choose to be certified
as a Certified Construction Product Representative (CCRP), the Construction
Specifications Institute runs this program.
"By earning these credentials, employees demonstrate a general
knowledge of green building practices and enhance their career development
potential," said Oliver Stepe, YKK AP senior vice president.
YKK AP has set up a ten-week study group program to help employees
prepare for the exam. So far, nine sales representatives have participated
in the study group. All five who have taken the exam have passed.
Four more are awaiting exam results.
