USGNN Original StoryWestshore Glass Files for Bankruptcy

Westshore Glass Corp. in Tampa, Fla., filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on January 30 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Middle District of Florida, according to court documents. Court documents list the company's assets at $10.2 million, with total liabilities of $14.9 million.

Westshore began operation in 1954 producing jalousie glass louvers, and today is a distributor of all types of glass and related materials, including the Sunpane® line of insulating glass units, tempered glass, storefront systems and custom laminated glass.

Westshore is being represented by Stephenie Biernacki Anthony of Gray|Robinson in Tampa its case.

Neither the company nor its attorney could be reached for comment by USGNN.com™.

This is not the first time the company has faced troubles. In January 2006, the company closed temporarily due to what it described as a "catastrophic" fire.
