Vos Glass Recognized by ABC for Safety,
Honors in Glazing
November 3, 2010
The National Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. (ABC) Safety
Committee has awarded Vos Glass Inc. in Grand Rapids, Mich., with
a safety training and evaluation process (STEP) Platinum Level Achievement
Award for the fourth consecutive year.
The STEP programs' purpose is threefold: to analyze and further
develop member's safety programs; to provide a valid method of measuring
safety program improvements; and to provide a company with recognition
for their commitment to produce a safe place to work.
"The Platinum Award is the highest level award and can only be
awarded to companies that have earned previous cold or platinum
certification," says John Doherty, president and chief executive
officer of the Western Michigan chapter of ABC.
"Being committee to safety is an ongoing process and the biggest
reward is a safer workplace," says Linda Vos-Graham, president of
Vos Glass Inc.
ABC also recognized the company with two 2010 Awards of Excellence
honors in glazing for two projects:
- Holland Hospital Renovations in Holland, Mich., in the category
glazing under $2 million and
- Van Andel Institute - Phase II in Grand Rapids, Mich., in the
category glazing over $2 million.
