Vitrum 2009: Advanced Technology and New Glass Education
Academy
June 22, 2009
Despite the ups and downs in the market, show organizers of Vitrum
2009, the 16th international exhibition specializing in machinery,
equipment and systems for flat and hollow glass, and glass and processed
products, have responded well to the economic crisis in recent months.
Organizers say the event will provide a complete overview of the
prospects for growth in the glass sector in 2010 and an opportunity
to discover innovative products that will help re-launch the glass
industry.
In its 16th year, Vitrum will include new features in 2009, including
VITRUM LAB, an educational course and artistic workshop for primary
school students to help them learn about glass.
At the Milan exhibition complex in Rho, from October 28-31, primary
school students from Milan will be able to discover, through old
pictures and live demonstrations, the exceptional craftsmanship
of Murano master glassmakers, coming into contact with this unique
artistic heritage.
The children will be involved in creative workshops where they
can make objects out of glass. This will serve as a way to help
them become more familiar with this material and discover the unlimited
potential of an important Italian industry, while also having fun.
