Vitrum 2009 to Premiere Renewable Energy Showcase
April 9, 2009

Plans are currently underway for Vitrum 2009, the international exhibition of machinery, equipment and systems for the processing of flat and hollow glass, glass and finished products for the industry. The event will take place at the Fiera Milano Complex in Rho, Italy, October 28 to 31. Show organizers say it will offer a clear overview of the industry's growth prospects for 2010 through three themed areas devoted to flat glass, hollow glass and sources of renewable energy. More than 600 Italian and international companies are expected to exhibit.

Exhibits, conferences and various glass processing demonstrations will be included as part of the show. Performances by the glass masters of Murano will provide demonstrations from around the world of Italy's thousands-of-years-old tradition in hand working with this precious material.

Vitrum Energy 2009 is the most recent addition to the show. This segment will offer visitors a chance to discover what the glass industry has to offer in terms of green economy and future prospects in the area of energy-saving materials.

Vitrum Energy 2009 is the first Italian and international showcase that will be dedicated to energy saving glazing technologies. The new section will provide visitors with the opportunity to explore innovations of the leading international manufacturers and to preview the avant-garde solutions that will improve the energy efficiency of homes and buildings.
