Third Round of Layoffs in Order for Viracon

Last week at its plant in Owatonna, Minn., Viracon implemented a workforce reduction of 80 full-time employees; approximately half were voluntary, Christine Shaffer, Viracon's director of marketing, confirmed to USGNN.com™. "The number accounts for 6 percent of the Owatonna workforce," she adds.

Viracon has now laid off more than 300 employees since January of this year, when it announced it was reducing its workforce by 250 people-about 15 percent (CLICK HERE for related article). In March the company further laid off nearly 100 workers (CLICK HERE for related article).
