TecniGlas Expands Canadian Operations and Adds
New Fabrication Line
March 9, 2010
TecniGlas, a Canadian fire-rated and technical glass distributor,
has announced the expansion of its facility in mid-town Toronto.
The expansion adds more production capacity and accommodates a new
lamination line, according to the announcement.
"We added about 5,000 square feet to our 27,000-square-foot
building in Toronto," says Jordan Richards, president of TecniGlas.
"We've been in the same location on Railside Road for nearly
20 years and sales of impact-safety fire-rated glazing are at an
all time high for us, so we are investing into the market."
"Our Railside Road location is near the intersection of Toronto's
major highways 401 and 404 so it made sense for us to expand here
rather than build a new plant far away in a farmer's field somewhere,"
says Fred Fulton, sales manager for TecniGlas. "Many local
customers like to pick-up their glass and appreciate the superfast
turnaround we can offer them from our central location."
TecniGlas distributes and fabricates the SCHOTT PYRAN® Platinum
family of fire-rated glazing products, ROBAX® heat-resistant
glass for fireplaces and woodstoves and X-ray shielding glass.
