Glass TEXpo™ '08, co-sponsored by the Texas Glass Association,
wrapped up on Saturday at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center
in San Antonio, Texas, with several sessions for glass shop owners.
On Saturday, Terry Bunker, sales coordinator of Jackson Corp.,
continued his forecast with aluminum storefront hardware. The in-depth,
two-part presentation offered information about overhead concealed
closers, installations, retrofit and troubleshooting door applications,
among other topics (see video from the session below).
Wayne Williams of C.R. Laurence Co. Inc. helped his audience to
understand the tools necessary for frameless shower door installation.
Williams offered insight into some techniques to make installation
smooth.
Debra Levy, publisher of USGNN.com™/USGlass magazine presented
a seminar on the new Texas franchise tax. This piece of legislation
that went into effect January 1 featured some significant revisions,
and Levy (who crammed as a last minute substitute) helped these
Texas business owners navigate the updates that impact the tax base
and rate.
