October 7, 2010

USGNN.com™ and USGlass magazine are pleased to welcome the newest blogger to their line-up of industry contributors, Bill Stone, president of Louisville Plate Glass. Stone will be contributing regularly to The Bill Session.

Stone is president of Louisville Plate Glass Company, a founder of United Glass Corp. and the original controlling partner in what is now known as Tempered Glass Inc. While remaining a significant shareholder in United Glass Corp., Stone re-acquired 100-percent ownership in Louisville Plate Glass Company in June 2009.

Stone has been involved with many glass industry organizations, including the Glass Association of North America, Associated Builders and Contractors, The Dodge Advisory Panel, Ohio Glass Association and the Louisville Area Glazing Contractors Association. In addition, he has a wide range of community and national civic affiliations; he is currently a member of the board of trustees of the University of Louisville and serves on the board of the Cardio Vascular Institute, a joint venture between the University of Louisville and Jewish Hospital. Stone is a commissioner, appointed by the Mayor, on Citizens Police Accountability Commission. While a past member of the board of directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Stone still serves as a member of both the Chamber’s labor and public policy committees. He is a past chair of the U.S. Chamber Labor Policy Committee and a former member of the board of their Institute for Legal Reform.

USGNN.com does not mark Stone’s first news appearance; he has appeared on many national venues on behalf of the business community, including The Today Show, CNN, This Week with David Brinkley, Nightline, CBS Evening News and Good Morning America.

Stone’s blogs will be shared regularly via http://bill.usglassmag.com.
