Southern Wholesale Glass Inc. based in Americus, Ga., has announced plans to open a new facility in the Atlanta area in early 2009. According to Mark Michael, president of the company, the new plant will manufacture insulating glass units (IGU) and distribute aluminum and flat glass. Its current location in Americus will supply the new facility with its tempered glass. The Atlanta location will operate a horizontal line from Billco and use Edgetech's Super Spacer nXt and Delchem's D-2000. "We're extending our territory because we have a lot of customers there and a lot of demand in the Atlanta area, plus we'll be able to offer next day service," says Michael.
