South Korea to Investigate Chinese Glassmakers Regarding
Price Cutting Allegations
The Hankyoreh online news source recently reported that South
Korea's Korea Trade Commission plans to investigate complaints made
by KCC Corp. and Hankuk Glass Industries Inc. of price-cutting and
subsequent dumping by nine Chinese glass manufacturers.
The investigation will reportedly last three to five months and
consist of inspections of the targeted glass manufacturers, exporters,
importers and users. Reportedly, the investigation will focus on
3-4 mm thick clear and green float glass products.
The Hankyoreh reported that the market for those products accounted
for nearly $350 million USD (323 billion yon) in 2006.
