Sika Opens New Warehousing Operations in Marion, Ohio

Sika Corp. announced the opening of a new 200,000-square-foot warehousing facility at its Marion, Ohio, location. The new facility features a consolidated shipping point and expedited material flow for the company's business units and its customers serviced through the Marion operation. The new facility is located adjacent to the Marion plant and also has space for future growth.

The Marion warehouse operation serves as one of several centralized distribution centers for nine business units within Sika Corp., including flat glass products.

According to a company announcement, consolidation of the current warehousing operations will occur in closely timed stages, and all actions including merger of existing finished goods inventories should be completed by the end of April 2011. The former warehousing space occupied in the plant will be converted to additional manufacturing capacity.
