SMI Hires Independent Rep for Florida West Coast

SMI Systems, a manufacturer of impact-resistant entrance systems and custom glazing products, has hired Bernard (Butch) McGovern with the McGovern Group LLC. McGovern will be representing SMI Systems for the west coast of Florida, from Tampa to Naples. McGovern is certified with the state of Florida as a general contractor and a U.S. Green Building Council Accredited Professional (LEED A.P.). For more than 20 years McGovern has been involved in the construction industry in operations, business development, marketing and project management.

He will report directly to Mike Wilson, director of sales development for SMI and will be responsible for business development.

"Butch's expertise, combined with the release of new Miami-Dade approved products, will help us strategically grow the SMI business throughout the state of Florida," says Jim Pande, president, SMI Systems. "SMI continues to invest in the growth of the business and Butch will be a great asset in this initiative."
