Caffes-Steele Contributes to Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation
September 3, 2010

Caffes-Steele Windows and Doors, a Baltimore-based glazing contractor, and the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation (CRSF), have announced that the contractor has chosen the Baltimore-based foundation as one of its philanthropic beneficiaries through a significant gift.

“As parents, helping children has always been a priority for me and my wife Sandra,” said Jim Caffes, president and chief executive officer. “We are thrilled to be working with the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, and we hope that our gift will help disadvantaged children in our area.  We know that with the Ripken name on it, the Foundation does wonderful work.”

The gift will benefit a variety of programs, including Badges for Baseball, a multi-faceted mentoring program that brings the tenets of “The Ripken Way” to young people through baseball/softball themed activities.  The gift will also be utilized for the Foundation’s Swing for the Future campaign, which is a program that partners the foundation with communities across the country to design and construct youth development parks in at-risk areas.

“Jim and Sandra Caffes are wonderful and caring people,” said CRSF executive director Steve Salem. “Their gift will help us continue with our mission to positively impact disadvantaged youth across the country. We thank them for their wonderful support.”
