Pulp Studio to Acquire California Glass Bending
March 16, 2012
Pulp Studio Inc. of Los Angeles is in the process of acquiring
California Glass Bending Inc. of Wilmington, Calif. The acquisition
will be final by the month's end, according to Pulp Studio. The
two companies have collaborated for the last eight years, according
to a Pulp Studio release.
No employees will be affected in the transition, and additional
hires will possibly be made over the coming months, according to
the release. The addition of the California Glass Bending facility,
as well as the expansion of Pulp's second facility , will give Pulp
Studio a total of three facilities with just more than 100,000 square
feet of manufacturing space and close to 100 employees
"Kelly Green, the owner of California Glass Bending, has
been in the industry for many years and now has the opportunity
to take life a little easier," says Bernard Lax, CEO of Pulp
Studio. "Our two companies have long worked together on many
projects. The synergy of the two facilities makes this acquisition
a natural step for all parties concerned."
Pulp officials say the acquisition will enable both companies to
offer a wider range of products. There will be no immediate change
in how the facilities operate and the customers of both facilities
will experience no changes.
"Transactions like these can potentially be uncomfortable
when the principles are also friends, but we both worked together
to make this one as simple and smooth as possible," Lax says.
"It is our intention to have Kelly remain involved with our
operation as long as he wants. His talents will be a great help
to us."
Officials at California Glass Bending were unavailable for comment
