Is the European Commission Preparing Another Price-Fixing Fine?

According to a June 24 article from Bloomberg, Nippon Sheet Glass Co.'s Pilkington unit, Asahi Glass Co. and Cie. de Saint-Gobain SA are expected to be fined by the European Commission (EC), the European Union's (EU) antitrust authority, as soon as July 16. The article cited three anonymous sources.

In November 2007, the EC fined Japan-based Asahi Glass Co.'s subsidiary AGC Flat Glass Europe in Belgium, Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Guardian Industries, Pilkington and Saint-Gobain in France a total of EUR 486.9 million (approximately USD $719.2 million). CLICK HERE for that story.
