Pat Rome, president of Brin/Northwestern Glass Co., Minneapolis,
is leaving the company October 15.
"I felt I am due for a change and am looking at some new
challenges outside the glass industry," Rome told USGNN.
"I have no definite plans yet other than achieving an MBA.
One rumor, that I didn't start, was that I was becoming a professional
fishing guide on Lake of the Woods in Canada. I'm seriously thinking
of making that rumor true," he joked.
Rome has been very involved with the Glass Association of North
America (GANA) and served as its president in 2002-2003, as well
as chairperson of GANA's building envelop contractors division.
With the change, John Biehl has been promoted to president of
Brin Contract Division and Stan Mariska has been promoted to president
of Brin Northwestern Service and Distribution Division. Both had
previously served as vice president of their respective divisions.
"They, along with Doug Nelson's continued strong leadership,
are making the transition smooth," Rome explained. "I
have no doubt that Brin will continue to grow and prosper under
their leadership. The timing of my exit is good since Brin currently
employs the best group of professional, experienced and well-trained
employees it has ever had."
