As of press time, there were no updates as to when the down line
is expected to return to working order. "The one line is still
running and the engineers at the plant are still assessing damage
at the plant from the flooding," commented Rob Struble, business
communications manager, performance glazings, PPG. He added, "This
has the potential to impact all PPG glass customers in all segments
nationwide, [and] our logistics groups and sales groups are working
with our customers to minimize the disruption nationwide."
While no new updates were available about production, Struble was
able to add that all employees at the plant were safe.
"Nobody was hurt during the event," he stressed.
The flooding took the area by surprise with reports of as much
as 13 inches of rain in the area. CLICK
