PGC International Announces July Webinar on
Tornado Protection
July 1, 2009
The Protective Glazing Council (PGC) International announced the
next in a monthly free webinar series for architects, building owners,
specifiers, glazing contractors and others in the architectural
community.
Scheduled for the last Friday of each month, the next webinar will
be given by Valerie Block, senior marketing specialist for DuPont
Glass Laminating Solutions. Block, who brings more than 25 years
of experience in the glass industry, will discuss impact protection
for homes and buildings in tornado-prone areas. Tornado-prone areas
face unique threats associated with these severe storm events. High
wind shelters offer homeowners a means of personal protection and
impact resistant glazing helps to mitigate the potential damage
from flying debris. The benefits associated with impact resistant
glazing can also protect commercial buildings from windborne damage.
"Block is considered a true expert in the glass industry,"
said Brian Pitman, director of marketing and communications for
the organization. "Her presentation will provide great insight
into protections that many in the country should strongly consider."
Block's presentation begins at noon EDT, July 31.
